Sword of Convallaria

Grid-based battlefields, a 120-hour adventure, and quest to save the world all wrapped up in a pixel-art strategy RPG… What more could anyone ask for?

XD Entertainment’s Sword of Convallaria is just that and so much more, combining turn-based combat with classic RPG charm and classes, Japanese voice acting, and of course plenty of team building. Add in a hard-hitting score from Hitoshi Sakimoto of Final Fantasy Tactics acclaim, and any fan of this genre’s bound to enjoy.

Out now on iOS and Android, Sword of Convallaria features many characters to collect and decisions to make that will reshape the world.

Ouros

Handcrafted puzzle game Ouros is a multiplatform meditative mathematics experience with minimalist vibes and relaxation abound. It tasks players with nudging, stretching, bending and crafting curves to form unusual shapes, all while ensuring they align with particularly resonant ring targets.

This first title from Michael Kamm has over 120 levels combining puzzle and physics-based gameplay. Creating a shape that connects to all targets creates satisfying sounds that add to the score, building up into a hypnotically serene serenade.

Legends Reborn: Age of Chance

Gala Games’ free-to-play card battler Legends Reborn: Age of Chance is out in soft launch on Android, taking players to the fantasy realm of Tolkheim. Possible Tolkien reference aside, this realm features a range of heroes and creatures to collect and combine – from dragons to a cyclops and even animated tree monsters – to build up into a unique and unstoppable deck.

Unstoppable or not, those decks can be taken online in a PvP mode to compete against friends and rise through the leaderboards, fine-tuning strategies and builds along the way.

New game modes, mechanics and deck-building assets are being added and Gala Games is looking for player feedback as these new features come into play, informing what content will get prioritised in the full release.

Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery

Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery is an indie puzzler sequel to Rogueside’s Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic, marking the return of hand-drawn visuals and interactive landscapes that unleash players’ inner artists.

Hidden objects are everywhere in this new release, with 33 levels for keen-eyed gamers to search through. Reality Shift allows players to see sceneries during different seasons for a fresh new perspective, while various time periods from the Victorian to outright sci-fi keep those visuals fresh and interesting.

And despite that “2” moniker, Discovery is in fact Rogueside’s third Hidden Through Time game, with plenty of its own cryptic mysteries solve.

Candy Crush

yt

Yes, we know. Candy Crush isn’t exactly a brand-new game – in fact it’s already over 12 years old! But it is new to alternative app stores, having launched this week on Huawei’s App Gallery, the Samsung Galaxy Store, Xiaomi GetApps and on ONE store.

This new launch has come through a team-up between King and Flexion, distributing the former’s flagship to sweet new audiences. And while Candy Crush is clearly no slouch in the downloads department – it has more than three billion to date – an extra spoonful of sugar can’t hurt.

The match-3 titan has also been using AI bots to playtest new content, freeing up level designers to spend more time on the creative side. If you’ve not tried the game yet, it seems like now is the perfect time to dive in. It’s more gameplay for more people, “making the world playful”, as King would say.
