GenAI platform Reforged Labs has raised $3.9 million in a seed round led by global venture capital firm DCM.
Reforge Labs will use this new capital to enhance its AI capabilities and refine its creative and performance models to better meet the unique requirements of gaming ads.
The company specialises in the production of video ads which, while effective, come with issues such as ad fatigue, rising costs, and the requirement of complex experimentation to find a sweet spot.
With game companies currently spending weeks on video ad development, Reforged Labs is offering game studios a better way to create and optimise video ads.
Tackling challenges
Over the past months, the company has piloted its AI ad platform with various partners, from startups to AAA studios to reduce the time needed for ad development and optimisation.
“Player acquisition is the lifeblood of any game – and the most important challenge for game studios,” says Reforged Labs CEO and co-founder Robert Huynh.
“Mastering marketing has long been difficult, unpredictable, and the single largest expense for game developers, and we built Reforged Labs to tackle that challenge.”
The seed round received participation from Y Combinator, Epakon Capital, Goodwater Capital, Phoenix Fund, Asymmetry Ventures, and angel investors, including executives from Niantic and Pocket Gems, and the founders behind King and Sky Mavis.
